Parade Grounds at Fort Williams Park, 1000 Shore Rd, Cape Elizabeth, Maine
Saturday June 19 at 4pm (rain date June 20 at 4pm)
The concert program will address the various stages of a woman’s life, from childhood through adolescence and adulthood to maturity.
Songs in the program address both particular life stages and the strength of a child/girl/woman as she forges her identity and place in the world. The special guest for this concert is the Maine Girls Chorus (MGC), a small ensemble of high-school age singers that was founded in 2018. The MGC will sing a set with WIH and a set of their own. The program of (need number) songs includes Everything Possible by Fred Small, The Little Road by Moira Smiley, and I’m Still Standing by 1960s icon Janis Ian.
The concert will take place on the parade grounds at Fort Williams Park, 1000 Shore Rd, Cape Elizabeth, at 4pm. Rain date/time is June 20 at 4pm. Standing six feet apart on granite bleachers, singers’ voices will be powerfully amplified. Bring a lawn chair! Audience masking and distancing is encouraged for everyone’s peace of mind. Admission is free, with a small fee for parking.
