We are simply a group of women who love to sing. We come from all walks of life and bring many talents to this organization. Some of us have professional training, while others are new to choral singing, but we all share the same passion for music and the performing arts. Each member not only has a responsibility to attend rehearsals and performances, but also to contribute to their production and coordination. Rehearsal nights are filled with music and laughter as we join our hearts, spirits and voices into a joint endeavor. To achieve our mission, members are asked to contribute additional time and energy outside of rehearsal, and are expected to participate on a team of their interest. We have singing and non-singing members. The requirements to be a singing member are a love of singing, the ability to match pitch and hold a vocal part, and a willingness to learn. Our rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from the first Tuesday after Labor Day until our May concerts.
We advise prospective members to familiarize themselves with the Women In Harmony Mission, Vision, and Statement of Purpose and we encourage you to visit a rehearsal to see whether Women in Harmony is the right group for you. We welcome all women, with no barriers due to age, sexual orientation, race, sex, gender identity/expression, disability, economic background, color, ethnicity, or national origin. Scholarships are available to women who need financial assistance to cover the membership dues.
In order to be invited to join Women in Harmony, you must first pass a simple voice check. Once you have passed a voice check, our director will contact you when there is an opening in the chorus for you. We might be holding voice checks for potential new members in August 2024. Please check this website from time to time to watch for an announcement of a voice check date.
To contact our membership team with any questions about this process or to inquire about supporting the chorus by becoming a non-singing member, please email Sara Foster at: fostersa926 at gmail dot com.
